Choose the perfect hotel in Fort Myers? Perfect for You that means.

Booking a hotel in Fort Myers area doesn't sound difficult, right? But when you book your hotel online or over the phone, there is really no way to tell how nice the hotel is or where is it located. Their pictures wont tell you that much. And hotel rep wont tell you the truth - he wants your business.

For example there is one hotel in Fort Myers called “On the Water” but that does not necessarily mean that it is on the beach or sea front. The truth is – it is on river bank. Not that there is anything wrong with it but if you want to swim in the sea everyday, it could be bit inconvenient. Because it is about 40 minute drive to the real beach and real sea. That is if there is no traffic. So imagine a family in my cab and their surprise when I told them.

Another time there a was young couple who came to get married on the beach. Their hotel was good 3 miles from the beach! They were convinced though, that beach is under their window. And they didn't rent a car. So much disappointment especially when getting married. Don't you think?

Yes, there were many upset customers in my cab who felt little tricked. And even though I had nothing to do with their reservation they were mad at me!



Now, I don't really prefer one hotel name over the other. I always book online to get a good deal. But I wish there was more info on each hotel. Like this last time we went to Key West for couple of days and our hotel was in middle of construction zone! Quite annoying but very hard to find out online or over the phone. Even when you pull up the Google map you wont see it.
